Nickel Plating

A hard bright silvery metal coating which is  used as both a decorative and wear coating. Many handguns are nickel plated instead of blued as it gives superior wear protection where there is a lot of holster use.   Handguns that are overall blued quite often have their hammer and trigger nickeled to prevent wear patches which always show up on these points---it also gives a nice contrast to to blue. Bright or matt coatings can be applied.
